Buying a stage 1 or Series Land Rover
A series Land Rover is based on a design from the 1940's... it is not a modern car. The Stage 1 makes a Series into a more usable vehicle but with a thirst for petrol and some parts that are specific to the model.
I found a guide from Glencoyne Engineering, it's brilliant. I also made a tick box list that was helpful when appraising a potential purchase. If you want to know what is what from the VIN number, take a look at CalVIN and who knows where that V8 came from.
